Perspectives on Higher Education

Higher Education as a Path to Discovery and Leaving a Mark

Higher education must go beyond the mere accumulation of knowledge; it should be a profound journey to transform and enrich our essence. My passion lies in accompanying educators and students on that journey, so they may discover their own voice, tell their personal story, and make their knowledge visible in a way that allows them to leave their mark on the world. Discovering and showcasing one’s personal brand is crucial.

In this 21st century, higher education is constantly reinventing itself, shaped by the transformations of professions, individuals, and their dreams. In this context, learning spaces must be more than repositories of knowledge; they should be laboratories of identity, values, and action. A place where we not only learn the what, but also the how to be and the how to act, with commitment and authenticity.

Now more than ever, we need the courage to show ourselves as we truly are. There is an urgent need for our voices to be heard and our identities to be seen.

Achieving deep self-awareness and discovering our talents is more important than simply acquiring data. We must be conscious that what we choose to learn—and how we learn it—reflects who we are, what we value, and where we want to go.

This is the invitation: for higher education to become that space where personal brands are discovered, affirmed, and projected into the world—leaving an authentic and lasting mark.

Education does not change the world. It changes the people who are going to change the world.” – Paulo Freire
